TOEFL® stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language.
If you need to develop your English and take the TOEFL®, then we can help you. This training gives you the language skills, intensive practice, and test-taking strategies that you need to do well on the TOEFL®. You can work at your own pace, follow your own programme, and get individual help.

Course aims
This training aims to help you improve your English skills and prepare you for the TOEFL® test.
If you need to write the test and improve your score we can help you develop the skills you need.
Course content
The TOEFL® Training focuses on:
- listening (comprehension, supporting ideas, important details);
- structure (completing sentences and finding grammatical errors in them);
- reading (main ideas, factual information, inferences, vocabulary);
- writing (generate, organise and develop ideas in standard English);
- exam strategies (timing, avoiding misleading answers).
The training also includes speaking and discussing skills.
Approach
Group, pair and individual work, and self-study.
Computers are available for self-study at the James Boswell Institute at various times during the week.
Self-study load
Approximately 4-6 hours per meeting.
Certificate of participation
You will receive a certificate of participation if you attend at least 8 meetings.
Participant's commitment
Active participation in the course meetings; doing the self-study tasks.

Prerequisite knowledge
The courses are marked with a final level indication. For the validation of language competences the James Boswell Institute refers to the Common European Framework, an internationally recommended instrument developed by the Council of Europe. This course is relevant when you have:
